Chef Ebenezer Smith is latest Guinness World Record holder for longest cooking marathon

Chef Smith currently holds the reigning Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, clocking an impressive 802 hours and 25 minutes

Ghanaian Chef Ebenezer Smith has set the new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Chef Ebenezer Smith began his cook-a-thon on 1 February with the aim of surpassing the current record.

Chef Smith set the record with a time of 802 hours and 25 minutes.

In a Facebook post, Chef Smith announced that “it’s with great pleasure and honor that we inform the general public and the media of the press conference of Millennium Chef Smith as he announces his results from the Guinness World Records for the longest cooking marathon by an individual at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel on Tuesday 2 July 2024.”

Before the press conference at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel on Tuesday (2 July), the Millennium Chef expressed excitement about his new accomplishment.

 “And fellow Ghanaians, today is the day I will forever remember. I am incredibly humbled and honored to stand before you today as the Guinness World Record holder. Cooking for 802 hours, 25 seconds.”

He added, “My heart is overflowing with joy and gratitude for making this dream come true. Cooking has always been a very true passion, my calling and to be recognised as a global skill of my abilities is truly a dream come true.”

He now holds the record, which was previously held by Irishman Alan Fisher, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes.
