Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has publicly appealed to President John Mahama to concentrate on national governance and desist from what he describes as targeted attacks against him. Wontumi asserts that he has committed no wrongdoing nor served under any previous administration to justify being “hunted” by the current government.
In his statement, Wontumi emphasized the importance of unity and national development, urging the President to prioritize the country’s progress over political vendettas. He expressed concern that continued personal attacks could detract from the government’s focus on addressing pressing national issues.
The appeal comes amid heightened political tensions, with members of the opposition alleging targeted actions against NPP affiliates. Wontumi’s call for a shift towards constructive governance highlights the need for collaborative efforts in addressing Ghana’s challenges.
