The Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association in Accra has called on its members to lower the prices of spare parts following the recent appreciation of the Ghana Cedi against the US Dollar.
The directive comes as part of efforts to provide relief to consumers and support the government’s strategy to stabilize prices of goods and services nationwide. The call aligns with measures introduced by the administration of President John Dramani Mahama, aimed at strengthening the local currency and fostering economic stability.
Henry Okyere Jn, Chairman of the Association, praised the government’s decisive actions to boost the Cedi and pledged full cooperation from members to maintain fair pricing and market stability.
“We pledge our full collaboration with the government to sustain this positive trend and ensure further appreciation of the Cedi, bringing much-needed economic relief to Ghanaians,” he said.
The Association has urged all members to adhere strictly to the new pricing guidelines, highlighting their commitment to supporting national economic recovery and making spare parts more affordable for consumers.
The move is expected to ease the financial burden on vehicle owners and contribute to overall price moderation in the automotive spare parts market.
