CDD-Ghana to review Mahama administration’s first year

CDD-Ghana

The Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) will, on Thursday, 19 February 2026, organise a public roundtable to evaluate the first year of President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.

The event, to be held at the Centre’s conference room in the Airport Residential Area in Accra, will also mark the launch of CDD-Ghana’s First-Year Assessment Report.

According to the Centre, the forum will bring together policymakers, academics, civil society groups, media practitioners and members of the public to assess the government’s early policy direction and reform efforts.

CDD-Ghana says the assessment is intended to encourage dialogue and provide recommendations, rather than serve as a final verdict on the administration.

The report evaluates government performance across six areas: democratic governance and rule of law; anti-corruption and accountability; the economy and employment; environment and social development; foreign affairs and regional integration; and defence and security.

Issues to be examined include cabinet restructuring, constitutional reform processes, anti-corruption measures, macroeconomic stability, job creation, illegal mining, public service delivery and Ghana’s foreign policy engagement.

CDD-Ghana has previously conducted similar first-year assessments under past administrations.

The roundtable is open to the public.
