Petrosol CEO receives Energy Leadership Award
The Young Leadership Award is dedicated to celebrating young trailblazers in the energy sector in the country
Michael Bozumbil, chief executive officer of Petrosol Ghana Limited, has been honoured with the Osagyefo Young Leadership Award, 2020 at this year’s Ghana Energy Awards.
Bozumbil received the award for his exemplary leadership in the energy sector in the country.
The award, which is named after Ghana’s first president, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, is dedicated to celebrating young trailblazers in the energy sector.
In a citation, Bozumbil was described as having “shown exceptional leadership as the chief executive officer of Petrosol,” having grown the company from its humble beginning as a petroleum business management and consultancy firm in 2006 to its current state as an Oil Marketing Company(OMC) that is standing “tall as one of the formidable players in the Oil Marketing space in Ghana”.
He has also led his team to win several awards for Petrosol’s commitment to industry best practices and its reputation as a value-for-money brand.
Bozumbil was also celebrated for having played a pivotal role in growing a number of OMCs in the country during his over 20 years’ experience spread across both multinational and indigenous players.
He was also acknowledged for contributing significantly towards the growth and development of the petroleum downstream industry, having represented industry on several teams/committees including being the sole representative on the team that worked on the National Petroleum Authority’s (NPAs) first five-year-strategic plan; as well as championing reforms in the industry, including local content promotion.
The citation concludes by describing Bozumbil as “a symbol of hard work and excellent leadership in the downstream petroleum sector; having contributed immensely to the growth of the sector in Ghana.”
Petrosol Ghana Limited is a privately-owned indigenous Oil Marketing Company with several fuel stations across the country supplying high-quality fuel and lubricants.
