A retired teacher has been found dead in his room with a gunshot wound, the police confirmed to Asaase Radio on Monday.
John Kwaku Mensah, 64, is suspected to have shot himself when he was found lying in a pool of blood in his living room at Ebiram in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region.
The Central Regional police command said it is investigating circumstances leading to the incident.
The police also retrieved a gun, cutlass and a bottle containing an unknown liquid substance found near his body in the room.
According to a deputy spokesperson of police in the region, Isaac Evans Ettie, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Saltpond Government Hospital morgue for further investigations.
