PLAYBACK: Ghana’s 66th Independence Day celebration in Ho

The special guest of honour for the occasion is the president of Guinea-Bissau, Úmaro Sissoco Embaló, who is the chairman of the Economic Community of West African States

Today, 6 March 2023 marks exactly 66 years since Ghana gained independence from British colonial rule. The celebration is being held in Ho in the Volta Region of Ghana.

The special guest of honour for the occasion is the president of Guinea-Bissau, Úmaro Sissoco Embaló, who is the chairman of the Economic Community of West African States. The celebration is on the theme: “Our unity, our strength, our purpose”.
