VIDEO: STC bus somersaults on Kasoa-Cape Coast highway, many SHS students injured

Reports say that the students on board the STC bus were students at various schools in the Central and Western Regions

A State Transport Company (STC) bus carrying senior high school students from the Greater Accra Region to Takoradi via Cape Coast has crashed at the Gomoa Buduatta junction in the Central region.

The bus, bearing the registration number GT-1079-20, reportedly collided with a speeding tipper truck from the direction of Winneba and somersaulted.

According to reports, the incident happened on Monday (17 April 2023). Eyewitnesses say that many students returning to school in the Central and Western Regions were on board the bus and were injured.

Some of the victims have been rescued from the bus; others are still trapped in the mangled wreckage.

The injured passengers are receiving treatment at the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba.

 

Personnel from the Ghana National Service and other emergency services are on the scene to rescue and attend to all those involved in the crash.
