Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia and his team have kick-started the process of putting together a formidable campaign team for Election 2024

The Vice-President of the Republic and presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has paid separate visits to Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Engineer Francis Addai-Nimoh at their respective residences to confer with them nine days after the NPP presidential primaries.

Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Engineer Francis Addai-Nimoh were two of the three aspirants who contested the NPP internal primaries against Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia. The other aspirant was Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central in the Central Region.

The vice-president visited Kennedy Agyapong at his Mövenpick residence on Wednesday (8 November).

Dr Bawumia was accompanied by Fred Oware and Sammi Awuku, the former NPP national organiser and his campaign manager for the presidential primaries. Sources with first-hand knowledge of the visit by the vice-president told Asaase News that the NPP presidential candidate had great engagements with the two former aspirants.

Both men gave the vice-president a warm welcome to their home, the sources said.
