Black Stars depart ahead of World Cup Qualifier against Mali

Head coach Otto Addo has put his 26-man squad through their paces over the past four days in the Ghanaian capital as they look to bounce back from an underwhelming start to the qualification campaign

Ghana’s national men’s football team, the Black Stars, will depart Accra on Tuesday (4 June) for Bamako, Mali, ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Eagles of Mali on Thursday (6 June).

Head coach Otto Addo has put his 26-man squad through their paces over the past four days in the Ghanaian capital as they look to bounce back from an underwhelming start to the qualification campaign.

The Black Stars secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Madagascar, followed by a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Comoros in November 2023.

Ghana’s recent form also requires improvement, with the team winless in their last seven matches across all competitions (D4, L3).

Following the clash with Mali on Thursday (6 June), the Black Stars will return home to face the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Monday (10 June).
