B&FT’s 2025 Money Summit to tackle investment recovery and sustainable pension management

Daniel Amateye Anim-Prempeh, Director of Research and Economic Analysis at B&FT, said this year’s summit is particularly timely given the economic turbulence of recent years, which has severely impacted investor confidence and pension security

The Business and Financial Times (B&FT) is set to host the fifth edition of its flagship, The Money Summit, under the theme “Optimising Investment and Pension Management”, with a sharp focus on restoring confidence in financial markets and ensuring sustainable retirement income for Ghanaians.

Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Thursday (24 April), Daniel Amateye Anim-Prempeh, Director of Research and Economic Analysis at B&FT, said this year’s summit is particularly timely given the economic turbulence of recent years, which has severely impacted investor confidence and pension security.

“Many individuals saw their investments affected by government policy during the bond restructuring process. There’s still a sense of uncertainty when it comes to trusting financial institutions,” he noted.

Backed by research, the B&FT found that public trust in investment funds and pension schemes remains low. As Ghana’s macroeconomic outlook shows signs of recovery, the summit aims to explore alternative investment opportunities and promote policies that can guarantee secure, consistent pension income.

Unlike previous editions, this year’s summit brings together a powerful lineup of stakeholders, including the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Bank of Ghana, and major financial institutions like Stanbic Investment Management and Ecobank.

“These are not just conversations—we expect the summit to produce actionable recommendations for government consideration,” said Anim-Prempeh. “In other economies, pension funds fuel industrial growth. Why can’t we do the same here?”

This year, Ecobank is also partnering with B&FT as the summit’s lead sponsor. According to Anim-Prempeh, the pan-African bank’s commitment to economic development and financial inclusion aligns with the summit’s mission.

The Money Summit 2025 is strictly by invitation but will be livestreamed across B&FT’s digital platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, and their official website. Interested participants can also reach out to the B&FT via 0244 476376 for potential access to the event.
