Benjamin Asare extends Hearts of Oak contract to 2027
Asare’s contract has come under the spotlight after making his debut for the Black Stars.
Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has extended his contract to remain at the Accra-based club until 2027.
Reports say the 32-year-old has attracted interest from Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca and three unnamed French clubs. However, he has now committed his future to Hearts of Oak by signing a new deal.
Asare has come under the spotlight after making his debut for the Black Stars. He kept clean sheets in his first two games against Chad and Madagascar in March’s World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana coach Otto Addo has since endorsed Asare as the country’s new first-choice goalkeeper, ahead of long-time number-one Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Jojo Wollacott.
Asare, who joined Hearts of Oak from Great Olympics in 2024, has been lauded for his commanding presence between the posts.
