Bawumia to commission McDan Teshie sports complex 30 September

Vice President of the Republic, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will commission the McDan Teshie sports complex on Saturday, 30 September 2023.

The Vice President will be supported by Dr Daniel McKorley, chief executive officer of the McDan Group of Companies and Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, chief executive officer of the National Health Authority (NHA).

As part of the commissioning, there will be a football match between Stephen Appiah (former Black Stars captain) 11 and Okoe Boye 11. There will also be special games between La ladies 11 and Teshie ladies 11, Tema 11 versus Ada 11 and 9su 11 versus Teshie 11.

The state of the art five million dollars ($ 5 million) sports complex was constructed by the Wembley sports construction. The construction started on 15 September 2020, and it was completed after three years.

The facility is expected to boost sporting activities in the Teshie municipality. It is also expected to be used as a breeding ground for the development of sporting talents in the Teshie district.
