A father has beaten his 10-year-old daughter and torched her palm for allegedly stealing GHC10 from her grandmother at Kparipiiri in the West Mamprusi Municipality of the North East Region.
Mejida Idaya is currently being treated at the Walewale Government Hospital.
Eyewitnesses told Asaase News that although little Idaya denied stealing the money the father subjected her to that ordeal. Her mother is in the capital, Accra working as a head porter (kayayoo).
The little girl was rushed to the hospital by her brother after he was allegedly told she suffered the burns after dipping her palm in soup.
Hospital officials said her condition is stable. The police are yet to be informed about the incident.
