In a Facebook post the Minister refuted the allegations, urging the public to disregard the misinformation.

The Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, dismissed claims circulating on social media regarding the approval of a $1.7 million single-source procurement contract for the Ministry of Finance.
In a Facebook post the Minister refuted the allegations, urging the public to disregard the misinformation.
Dr. Ato Forson, in his response, stated categorically that he has not approved any procurement since assuming office as Finance Minister.
“My attention has been drawn to yet another baseless and misleading claim circulating about an alleged $1.7 million single-source procurement contract approved by me. This claim is completely false and should be disregarded,” he said.
The Minister reiterated his commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible economic management, emphasizing that his focus remains on serving the best interests of Ghanaians.
Similarly, the Public Procurement Authority distanced itself from the alleged approval, clarifying that it has not granted any such clearance to the Ministry of Finance.
“It has come to the attention of the PPA that a letter circulating on social media purports to grant single-source approvals to the Ministry of Finance for the engagement of Ostec Limited in respect of the implementation of Middleware and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition with data warehouse.
The Authority would like to clarify that it has not granted any such approvals. We therefore entreat the general public to ignore the said letters in circulation,” the statement read.
The allegations, which surfaced on social media, have sparked discussions regarding government procurement processes.
However, with both the Finance Minister and the PPA categorically denying any involvement, the claims appear to lack credibility.
