Ashesi ranked among 50 best places to work in Ghana

In its first annual list of top 50 Best Places to Work in Ghana, management-consulting firm Goodman AMC, has ranked Ashesi as one of the best organisations to work for. The 2015 ranking, which highlights Ghana’s happiest and most motivated workforces, includes multinational firms, international and public sector organisations.

“This year we saw quite a number of international organisations ranking in the Top 50 Best Places to Work in Ghana”, the firm’s blog post explains. “This is due to their ethics and understanding of factors that influence the happiness of their workforce.” In compiling its list, Goodman AMC sampled employees based to gain an overview of happiness factors at work, including teamwork, public perception, effective leadership, organizational culture and innovation.

Overall Ashesi ranked twelfth, and is the only university, on the list of fifty organisations.

Goodman AMC announces its 1st annual list of the Top 50 Best Places to Work in Ghana.

This is the annual ranking of Ghana’s happiest and motivated workforces. Its appearance each year will from now become a highly anticipated event in the Ghanaian business calendar.

The method of data-gathering and analysis employed in the quest to find Ghana’s Top 50 Best Places to Work means that, this list is widely acknowledged as the most extensive research into employee engagement carried out in this country.

Multinational firms, international organizations and public sector bodies with 250-3,500 employee range as well as SME’s with 15 to 250 were all assessed.

It is very important for employers in Ghana to constantly evolve and change. Creating happiness at work is a very essential process to building and creating a happier work environment. Beginning this year, Goodman AMC will evaluate organizations that are dedicated to creating happier work environments.

This year we saw quite a number of International organizations ranking in the Top 50 Best Places to Work in Ghana; this is due to their savory ethics and their understanding of factors that influence the happiness of their workforce; and such factors include growth opportunity and organization culture.

How Goodman AMC determines Top 50 Best Places to Work in Ghana

To figure out this year’s Top 50 Best Places to Work in Ghana, Goodman AMC conducted a survey. These surveys sampled employees based on a set of unique metrics calculated to give an overview of key happiness factors at work including: 

 1. Job security

 2. Teamwork

 3. Public perception 

 4. Growth opportunities 

 5. Work environment 

 6. Organization’s reputation

 7. Effective leadership

 8. Support for diversity

 9. Innovation

 10. Organization’s culture

 11. Strategic management

 12. Relationship with boss and co-workers

Each review is then given an average score indicating where the company or organization places, out of a maximum score of five. The reviews from organizations were tabulated to determine the Goodman AMC Top 50 Best Places to Work in Ghana for 2015.

Ranking No.1 on this year’s Top 50 Best Places to Work in Ghana is the United States Government foreign aid agency, USAID. Following USAID is multinational telecommunication giant; Vodafone Ghana. Google Ghana, Ecole Francais Jacques Prevert and the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS) follow in this order. At No. 6 is UT Bank with Lister Hospital, Office of the President, General Electric and WBHO rounding up the top 10.
