Ashanti Region: Taskforce members who secured votes for NDC demand National Security jobs
The group is now appealing directly to President John Dramani Mahama to intervene, warning that they will not sit idly by for the next four years without receiving what was promised to them.

A group of National Democratic Congress (NDC) taskforce members in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday (12 March) massed up at the party’s regional office at Amakom in Kumasi, demanding job placements following their efforts in the 2024 general elections.
The aggrieved members say they played a crucial role in mobilizing support for the party in the region, forming taskforces across all 47 constituencies with their own resources to help secure votes.
They claim that ahead of the elections, key NDC figures, including National Youth Organizer George Opare Addo and former Ashanti Regional Minister Samuel Sarpong, assured them that their contributions would be rewarded should the party come to power.
Maxwell Hope, the group coordinator revealed that they also met with security expert Larry Gbevlo Lartey, who reportedly promised them jobs at the National Security if the NDC won the elections. However, nearly four months into the new administration, they say they have been completely ignored.
“We worked hard to secure 35% of the votes in the Ashanti Region, yet not a single person has reached out to appreciate our efforts. We feel abandoned,” Hope stated.
“If this continues until 2028, we will not allow people from other regions to come here and take positions while we, who worked tirelessly for the party, are left behind,” he declared.

Asaase News is learning that the aggrieved supporters would be engaged by the party leadership to resolve tensions.
