Ashanti Region: Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation donates to 20 basic schools

The intervention targeted 10,000 pupils selected from schools in the Asante Akyem South District of the Ashanti Region in consultation with local education authorities

Twenty basic schools in rural communities in the Asante Akyem South District of the Ashanti Region have benefited from the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation‘s textbook donation drive.

The intervention targeted 10,000 pupils selected from these schools in consultation with local education authorities.

It is the second phase of the donation of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment-approved Science Textbooks and Workbooks to deprived Basic schools aimed at promoting Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in basic schools.

A total of 4,800 Science Textbooks and Workbooks valued at over GHC 200,000 were distributed to the schools in a ceremony held.

This donation brings a total of 12,000 textbooks and workbooks distributed by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation to 44 basic schools in Akrofuom and Asante Akyem South districts in August 2022 and February 2023 respectively.
