It’s here! The Asaase Sound Clash chariot awaits its winner

The posh passenger vehicle was up for grabs in the Asaase Sound Clash phone-in competition. Now, courtesy of Svani Group Ltd, the prize car is here on the company premises, waiting to be claimed ...

It was a dancehall competition prize like no other seen in Ghana. To coincide with the epic Asaase Sound Clash on Saturday (12 September) between the two titans of the dancehall scene in Ghana – Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy – Asaase Radio teamed up with Svani Group Ltd (formerly known as UTC Motors) to offer one lucky dancehall fan the top prize of a Mahindra KUV 100.

True to its word, Svani Ltd, one of the premier retailers of luxury cars in Accra, delivered the car, free of charge, to the forecourt of the Asaase Radio offices in Cantonments, Accra, this morning (Tuesday 15 September).

It has been standing near the main reception, catching the eye of the many visitors to the Asaase studios for the past 12 hours.

The chance to win the Mahindra KUV 100 was open to all members of the public.

The task demanded was simple: all fans had to do was grab a phone and say who was their favourite artist: Shatta Wale or Stonebwoy? They then dialled a short code to vote: *800*995*1# for Shatta Wale or *800*995*2# for Stonebwoy.

And if you predicted the right winner of the maiden Asaase Sound Clash, which took place last weekend, you were in with a fighting chance of driving away in your prize: a brand-new Mahindra …

Fans might still be hoping they’re in the frame for grabbing the top award … Sadly, this competition is settled. The name of the car winner was picked out of a hat over the weekend.

The lucky winner, who expressed delight in private conversation with the staff of Asaase Radio, is a well-known dancehall fan.

The car will be handed over at a brief presentation ceremony, to be held in Accra tomorrow (Wednesday 16 September).

UPDATE (16 September 2020, 4.50am): The handover ceremony for the top prize in the Asaase Sound Clash competitions will now take place on Thursday 17 September to allow all the interested parties to be present.
