The entertainment spotlight is once again on Cape Coast’s own Hypeman Ferggy, who has been announced as the official MC and hypeman for this year’s Shatta Fest Concert, scheduled for Saturday, 18 October 2025, at the Ghana Independence Square.
The event, headlined by multiple award-winning dancehall artist Shatta Wale, is expected to draw thousands of music lovers from across the country for a night of high energy and unforgettable performances. However, much of the anticipation is focused on Hypeman Ferggy — known off-air as George Ferguson Laing — whose dynamic voice and unmatched stage presence have made him a standout in Ghana’s entertainment scene.
Over the years, Ferggy has built a loyal following across the Western and Central Regions through his work on Asaase 100.3’s “Rush Hour”. His quick wit, humour, and ability to connect with live audiences have established him as a versatile performer capable of commanding both radio and stage audiences with equal flair.
Fans describe him as “a full experience,” noting his rare ability to read a crowd, sustain energy, and turn any event into a communal celebration. His inclusion in Shatta Fest 2025 marks another milestone in a career defined by consistency, passion, and creativity.
This appearance follows his standout performance at Kofi Kinaata’s “Made in Taadi” Concert in 2024, where his lively presence on stage earned him praise from industry insiders and fans alike.
According to Asaase Radio’s General Manager – Mr Jimmy Kutin, Ferggy’s selection as the official hypeman for Shatta Fest reflects the growing prominence of regional talent in Ghana’s national entertainment space. “Ferggy represents the kind of homegrown excellence that continues to push Asaase’s brand and regional voices into the national spotlight,” he said.
With Shatta Wale headlining and Hypeman Ferggy steering the energy, Shatta Fest 2025 promises to be one of the most talked-about events of the year, with fans anticipating an explosive celebration of music, rhythm, and pure showmanship.
