The General Manager of Asaase Radio, Jimmy Kutin, has emphasised that the media house operates with professionalism and independence, rejecting any suggestion of political bias.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service on Sunday (15 June) to mark the fifth anniversary of Asaase 99.5 Accra, held at the RoyalHouse Chapel Oil Dome in Accra, Kutin said the station’s mandate is to serve the public with objective, quality content—not political propaganda.
“We are not politicians; we are media men,” he declared. “We do it with a lot of professionalism… what happened on Wednesday was a misunderstanding. But I thanked the president and his action was swift and mature. We appreciate that.”
Using the occasion, which coincided with Father’s Day, Kutin expressed appreciation to the founder and Apostle General of RoyalHouse Chapel, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah.
“Papa, we want to thank you. We want to thank Lady, your elders, the church management, and all the people who come here every Sunday. This is my first time on the compound, and I was struck by how big and blessed this place is—it shows the grace of God on your life.”
Kutin also used the platform to highlight Asaase Radio’s growing national presence, with stations in Tamale, Kumasi, Cape Coast, and two in Accra. He hinted at a possible media partnership with the church, saying, “Hopefully, very soon, Papa, you’ll be live on air every Sunday on Asaase Radio.”
He concluded with a word of gratitude on behalf of Asaase’s Board Chairman, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, who was unable to attend the event but has promised to visit the church soon.
