Kumasi: Akufo-Addo to commission Agyemang Prempeh I International Airport 10 May

The airport’s commissioning next Friday will facilitate testing essential for both domestic and international flights

President Akufo-Addo is expected to officially commission one of Asanteman’s greatest legacies, the Nana Agyeman Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region next Friday (10 May).

The airport’s commissioning on Friday (10 May) will facilitate testing essential for both domestic and international flights.

With an estimated capacity to accommodate over 800,000 passengers annually from the northern and middle belt regions, the facility represents a significant leap forward in regional connectivity.

Plans are underway to expand the runway and dismantle outdated infrastructure upon the terminal’s activation.

The modern airport has been named after the 13th Asante King, Nana Sir Osei Agyemang Prempeh I.
