All new locally assembled Suzuki Swift unveiling by CFAO Mobility
This marks a significant milestone in the company's dedication to promoting local vehicle assembly and developing skills within Ghana's automotive industry

CFAO Mobility Ghana, the official distributor of Suzuki vehicles in the country, has unveiled a new locally assembled Suzuki Swift model.
This marks a significant milestone in the company’s dedication to promoting local vehicle assembly and developing skills within Ghana’s automotive industry.
The launch, held on Friday, 18 April, at CFAO Head office at Airport, showcased CFAO Mobility’s commitment to delivering affordable vehicles that meet international safety and design standards while bolstering local expertise and capacity.
The 2024 Suzuki Swift returns with a handsome design, upgraded luxury features and enhanced safety equipment. The revamped exterior, which maintains its iconic look, now boasts boxier LED headlights, an enlarged grille and a striking character line along the profile. A notable change is the addition of conventional rear door handles. Buyers can choose from a range of vibrant colours, including stylish two-tone options.
Inside, the redesigned cabin offers a balanced mix of modern technology and traditional aesthetics. It features elegant analogue gauges paired with a 9-inch Android-powered infotainment system positioned prominently on the dash, giving the interior a modern appeal.
The smart infotainment system allows for seamless connectivity and AI assistance, ensuring convenience is just a voice command away. Other updates include new climate controls, multiple USB charging outlets and upgraded safety features such as parking sensors, repositioned cameras for improved visibility, enhanced lighting and six airbags—four more than the previous model.
Under the hood, the new Swift is powered by a “highly efficient” 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with low fuel consumption, paired with a “smooth” CVT transmission driving the front wheels, delivering an improved driving experience.
Dennis Gawuga, CFAO Mobility’s Communications Manager, emphasised the transformative local assembly process, which involves breaking down over 1,000 components into manageable units. This initiative creates valuable opportunities to train and upskill Ghanaians, reinforcing the company’s dedication to quality and job creation. Gawuga noted that this approach aligns with CFAO Mobility’s long-term vision of transitioning to full-scale manufacturing and assembly in Ghana.
“We are extremely proud of this achievement,” Gawuga stated during the launch. “The Suzuki Swift is a compact vehicle that fits into the B-segment, celebrated for its fuel efficiency, manoeuvrability and comfort. It is a popular choice among Ghanaians, and we are determined to maintain our leading position in the small vehicle segment, where we currently hold an impressive 80% market share.”
With the addition of the locally assembled Suzuki Swift, CFAO Mobility Ghana solidifies its dominant presence in the small vehicle market. The company is committed to expanding its leadership by offering a range of vehicles tailored to the needs of Ghanaians seeking affordable, efficient and dependable transportation options.
As CFAO Mobility Ghana continues to invest in innovation and the local economy, its vision of an empowered and skilled workforce—alongside aspirations to become a major player in the regional automotive industry—takes another important step forward. The launch of the locally assembled Suzuki Swift exemplifies this drive towards realising its ambitious goals.
