Alex Apau Dadey shares KGL Foundation’s commitment to mental health

Alex Apau Dadey, board chairman of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and the executive chairman of the KGL Group, has shared how he has been a driving force behind several mental health initiatives through the KGL Foundation.

In an exclusive interview on Sunday Night on Asaase 99.5, Dadey said, “Mental health affects everyone. We all, in one way or another, have mental issues,” he stated, underscoring the universal relevance of this cause.”

The KGL Foundation recently launched the Mental Health Index, a technological initiative to address mental health challenges in Ghana.

Dadey’s dedication to this cause is rooted in his broader philanthropic philosophy. “Fortunately for me, my philosophy of wealth, like I said from the beginning, is to be able to distribute it. Is to be able to build things,” he said.

This approach is reflected in the foundation’s diverse efforts, including supporting the construction of a mental health facility in Kumasi and providing resources to the Mental Health Authority.

Dadey’s involvement in fundraising for mental health initiatives further highlights his commitment. “Back in, I think it was about a couple of years ago, we did a huge, raised a lot of funds in, I think it was in Saint-Tropez and that, for mental health around the world,” he recounted.

His active participation in these efforts and his family’s involvement in the foundation demonstrate a deep-seated dedication to improving mental health services and awareness in Ghana.
