Akufo-Addo requests Parliament’s approval of Herbert Krapa as Minister of State for Energy Ministry

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has requested for Parliament’s prior approval of the Minister of State-designate at the Ministry of Energy, Herbert Krapa.
The request is contained in a letter addressed to the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin.
“I am writing to seek parliamentary approval for the appointment of Herbert Krapa as Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy, in accordance with article 78 of the Constitution.”
“It has been the practise for some time, for the Ministry of Energy to be populated, by a substantive Minister and three deputy ministers. In view of the exceptionally heavy workload now attendant at the Ministry, it has become necessary to appoint a Minister of State at the Ministry, in the person of Herbert Krapa, who is currently a deputy minister,” the letter said.
Until his appointment, Herbert Krapa was the deputy minister of energy and board chair of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
