Agradaa to appeal 15-year jail sentence – Legal team
Her legal team is seeking either a reversal or reduction of the sentence
Lawyers for Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, say they will appeal the 15-year jail term handed to her by the Circuit Court in Accra.
Speaking to Citi FM on Thursday (3 July), her lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, described the ruling as “a travesty of justice” and announced plans to file an appeal early next week.
“We are going to do that early Monday morning,” he said.
“We say [it’s a travesty] not because the decision did not go our way, but because we are deeply concerned about the reasoning of the court.”
Agradaa was convicted of defrauding by false pretences and charlatanic advertisement, after promoting a money-doubling scheme during a church service in 2022.
