The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, has asked the police to declare the students’ leadership of the Krobea Asante Technical Institute wanted following a riot on campus over the weekend.
This directive is linked to the protest which led to the destruction of school and private properties on Sunday (22 January).
Osei-Mensah condemned the actions of the students and said anybody found culpable will be punished, confirming a five-member committee will be set up to investigate the incident.
The protest on campus led to the destruction of properties, forcing authorities to shutdown the school.
The Sekyere East District Security Council is meeting to review its strategies to deal with any security threats at the Krobea Asante Technical and Vocational Institute.
The education director for the Sekyere East District William Brako Adjapong confirmed 40 suspects have been arrested assisting police investigations.
