Ghana’s men’s volleyball team is spiking their way to success, booking their place in the semi-finals at the ongoing 13th African Games being held in Accra, Ghana.
The undefeated squad, featuring standouts like Abdul-Hameed Ibrahim and Akan Paul (beach volleyball quarterfinalist), has dominated the competition thus far.
Their journey began with a clean sweep in the preliminary round of Group A. Ghana overpowered The Gambia, Kenya, and Chad with a decisive 3-0 score in each match.
This momentum carried them into the quarterfinals, where they faced regional rivals Nigeria. In a thrilling encounter, Ghana emerged victorious with a 3-1 win, solidifying their place in the semi-finals and boosting Ghana’s overall medal hopes.
The semi-final for the men’s volleyball event gets underway at the Borteyman Sports Complex Multi-Purpose Sports Hall on Friday (22 March). The entire nation will be cheering on the team as they strive to add another medal to Ghana’s growing collection.
