African chief financial officers to meet in Accra 3 November

Conference of African Chief Finance Officers (CACFO 2025, Accra)

The Conference of African Chief Finance Officers (CACFO), the International CFO Alliance, the University of Ghana Business School and KPMG have announced that the CACFO will take place in Accra, Ghana, on 3 and 4 November 2025 at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel.

The crucial role of chief financial officers in organisational operations, growth and sustainability requires that they be constantly in tune with the socio-economic and financial environments within which they operate.

The CACFO is being organised as a niche platform for business finance leaders to discuss topical issues affecting their operations, explore strategies and best practice for growth, and connect with peers from across various industries and sectors.

The conference will run under the theme “ Profit, Risks and Scalability: the African CFO on a Continent in Flux”, and will bring together finance chiefs and allied actors from across the African continent and beyond, government leaders, multinational finance houses and leading figures from the business policy community to discuss the evolving state of play of the environment for corporate financial administration, as well as CFOs’ work in the changing global setting.

Highlights of the conference will include a policy leaders’ dialogue to offer leading corporate finance chiefs the opportunity to discuss pertinent matters with top fiscal and monetary policymakers; plenary sessions with keynote speeches; fireside chats and power panels from financial leaders from across the continent; a dedicated panel for young and aspiring CFOs; a female financial leaders’ dialogue to spotlight female finance leaders shaping Africa’s economy; and the CACFO marketplace, which will offer exceptional opportunities for business development through face-to-face access to corporate financial leaders.

A major highlight of the CACFO is the Africa Finance Leaders Awards and Reception to celebrate and recognize the outstanding contributions of CFOs and finance leaders in corporate and government roles.

Personalities taking part in the conference include John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, who will be the special guest of honour; His Excellency Mohammed Nasheed, the former president of Maldives and secretary general of the Climate Vulnerable Forum; and Cassiel Ato Forson, Ghana’s Minister for Finance.

The list of participants also includes Essow e Georges Barcola, the minister of finance and economy of Togo; Johnson Asiama, Governor of the Bank of Ghana; Ayo Adepoju, group chief financial officer of Ecobank; Tsholofelo Molefe, group chief financial officer of MTN; and Hassatou Diop N’Sele, vice-president (finance) and CFO of the AfDB Group.

The CACFO is committed to providing a niche platform to promote corporate and public financial excellence by connecting the critical players shaping Africa’s financial landscape to share best practice and build meaningful partnerships that drive growth.
