Afoko meets other NPP aspirants, party executives

Several aspirants for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) national chairmanship met in Jamasi, Ashanti Region, to offer condolences following the death of Obaapa Elizabeth Owusu Kwaaso, mother of former Chief of Staff Kwadwo Okyere Mpiani.

Former NPP National Chairman Awentami Paul Afoko, seeking the chairmanship for a second term, attended the gathering along with other declared aspirants including former National Organiser John Boadu, diplomat Edward Akwasi Boateng, former Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Stephen Asamoah Boateng, and former Energy Minister Agyarko Boakye Kyeremateng.

The aspirants were also seen interacting with former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Afoko used the occasion to engage fellow contenders and party executives in efforts to promote unity and cohesion within the party.

Observers at the gathering noted that the aspirants shared lighthearted moments and laughter, signaling a mood of reconciliation and party solidarity.

The condolences were delivered during the interment of Obaapa Elizabeth Owusu Kwaaso at the family residence, following a requiem mass at St Michael’s Catholic Church in Jamasi. Kwaaso, who died at the age of 103, had given birth to Mpiani when she was 18.
