Patricia Pearl Ankrah has made history as the first woman to become Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Afigya Kwabre South in the Ashanti Region, securing an overwhelming 98% approval from assembly members.
Out of the 37 assembly members who voted, 36 endorsed her nomination, giving her a strong mandate to lead the district.
Following her victory, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah pledged to prioritize development and unity in the district, promising to work closely with the Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Damata Ama Appianimaa Salam.
“I am committed to ensuring that the President’s agenda is fully implemented in Afigya Kwabre South, bringing real benefits to our people,” she stated.
MP Damata Ama Appianimaa Salam congratulated Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah, highlighting the significance of the Affirmative Action Bill, which has created more opportunities for women in leadership.
She also called on residents to support their leadership team, which now has two women at the helm, to achieve their development goals.
