Adutwum: Students in public schools to enjoy free chocolate beverages

In 2017 President Akufo-Addo promised to initiate a programme which would ensure that every student receives free chocolate or some other free cocoa product every day

Students in selected state-run schools in Ghana will soon enjoy free supply of chocolate beverages to boost their nutrition, the Ministry of Education has said.

The announcement comes after the ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with Niche Confectionery Ghana Ltd to distribute chocolate drinks to students.

The partnership will help make a reality President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s vision of ensuring that every child has access to a daily cocoa beverage.

“The nutrition of every child in school remains one of our priorities at the Ministry of Education,” Education Minister Yaw Osei Adutwum wrote, in a post on Facebook.
