Akufo-Addo fufills ¢1 million pledge to Medeama

Akufo-Addo pledged to support the Tarkwa-based side on their visit to the Presidency in August following their qualification to the CAF Champions League

President Nana Akufo-Addo has fulfilled his GH¢1 million pledge to support Medeama Sporting Club’s CAF Champions League campaign.

Akufo-Addo pledged to support the Tarkwa-based side on their visit to the Presidency in August following their qualification to the tournament.

Medeama received the promised amount on Thursday, December 14, with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, presenting it to the club.

Member of Parliament for Tarkwa and Nsuaem, George Mireku Duker, received the money on behalf of the club.

Ussif in a social media post said: “I had the privilege of presenting a GH¢1 million from H. E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to the MP for Takwa Nsuem, George Mireku Duker on behalf of Medeama Sporting Club, as a fulfillment of his pledge to them for winning the 2022/23 league and also qualifying for the CAF Champions League.”

“Together, we champion the spirit of sportsmanship and national pride. Best of luck to Medeama SC and I wish them well in their campaign in Africa.”

It’s a huge boost for Medeama SC as they face the crucial stages of their CAF Champions League stages with a crunch game against Young Africans on Wednesday, December 20 2023. They have four points from a possible nine after three games in Group D.
