The Member of Parliament for Atiwa East, Abena Osei-Asare, has launched a community-based education support initiative aimed at keeping pupils academically engaged during the long school vacation.
The initiative, which spans the communities of Anyinam, Adasawase, Sekyere and Abakoase, provides free vacation classes for pupils in Primary 1 to 6 and Junior High School 1 to 3.
According to the MP, the programme is designed to help pupils remain focused and academically active while schools are on break.
In addition to sponsoring the classes, Osei-Asare has distributed pens, pencils, and exercise books to participating pupils to aid their studies.
She also commended the volunteer teachers who have offered their time to support the initiative, calling their efforts inspiring.
The MP described education as a top priority for her constituency and pledged to continue investing in initiatives that improve learning outcomes and support the development of children in Atiwa East.
The intervention has been welcomed by parents and Atiwa East community leaders, many of whom say it offers a valuable opportunity for children to revise their lessons and prepare for the next academic term.
