Ernest Yaw Anim elected NPP parliamentary candidate for Kumawu

He polled 195 votes to win the elections which was contested by four other candidates namely, Ama Serwaah, Dr Da-costa Aboagye, Ernest Yaw Anim, Kwame Appiah Kubi and Osei Bempah Hwereh

Ernest Yaw Anim has been elected the parliamentary candidate for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Kumawu Constituency of the Ashanti Region.

He polled 195 votes to win the election contested by four other candidates; Ama Serwaah, Dr Da-costa Aboagye, Ernest Yaw Anim, Kwame Appiah Kubi and Osei Bempah Hwereh.

About 420 delegates, drawn from 25 electoral gathered at the Philip Basoah Community Center at Besoro, to cast their ballot.

The seat became vacant following the death of the sitting MP Philip Basoah last month.

Meanwhile, NPP flagbearer hopeful Alan Kyerematen has congratulated Ernest Yaw Anim for winning the elections.

Sharing the news on Facebook on Sunday (23 April), Kyerematen urged the other contestants to unite and work together to ensure the NPP retains the Kumawu seat in the upcoming by-election.
“Congratulations Ernest Yaw Anim on your election as the party’s candidate for the upcoming Kumawu Constituency by-election.”

“To the other contestants, let us unite and work hard together to retain the seat, honour the late Hon. Basoah’s legacy and continue to represent the people of Kumawu with distinction in Parliament.
Congrats Kumawu!,” he posted on Facebook.
