2024 Ghana’s Fastest Human: Gadayi and Boakye triumph

Edwin Gadayi and Mary Boakye emerged victorious at the 2024 GNPC Ghana Fastest Human competition, held on Saturday (29 June) at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Gadayi, a member of Ghana’s 4x100m relay team that has qualified for the upcoming Paris Olympics, dominated the men’s senior category.

He recorded a time of 10.24 seconds (0.04 seconds off his personal best), securing the gold medal.

Following closely behind was 2020 Olympian Sarfo Ansah (10.45 seconds) in second place, with Michael Cudjoe (10.54 seconds) rounding out the podium in third.

The women’s senior category saw Mary Boakye emerge victorious, sprinting to a time of 11.43 seconds.

Janet Mensah (11.66 seconds) and rising star Nassera Quansah (11.76 seconds) from the Central Region followed closely behind, clinching silver and bronze medals, respectively.
