2024 Ghana Energy Awards launched in Accra

The awards scheme recognises the efforts, innovation and achievements of individuals, companies and institutions within the Ghana’s energy sector

The 8th edition of the Ghana Energy Awards has been launched in Accra

Under the theme “the role of local content in building Ghana’s energy sector’’ the competitive annual industry awards has been used to recognise various individual and corporate energy stakeholders who have distinguished themselves creditably in their various capacities.

The event director of the Ghana Energy Awards Engineer Henry Teinor identified the energy sector as the cornerstone of national development.

Teinor said the impact of the Ghana Energy Awards on the sector has been profound. “Over the years, we have celebrated numerous trailblazers whose innovations and dedication have significantly contributed to the growth of Ghana’s energy industry… Our award winners have gone on to make substantial impacts, both locally and internationally, showing the talent and potential that resides within Ghana.”

He added that the eight-year milestone of the of the awards scheme is not just a testament to its past successes but a springboard to the future, adding, “… We envision a future where the Ghana Energy Awards will not only recognise excellence but also inspire groundbreaking advancements and international collaborations that will elevate Ghana’s energy sector to new heights”.

Teinor praised energy media journalists for articulating the issues confronting the industry and informing the public on updates of the sector

He commended the media for its role in covering, promoting and highlighting the achievements and challenges within the energy sector over the years.

In an interview at the sidelines of the awards launch the executive secretary of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana (COPEC) Duncan Amoah lauded the Ghana Energy Awards as a credible platform because of the rigorous procedures nominees go through before being selected to win awards.

The awards

The prestigious ‘Ghana Energy Awards’ is organised by the Energy Media Group under the auspices of the World Energy Council Ghana, the Ministry of Energy and its allied agencies.

The Awards Scheme recognises the efforts, innovation and achievements of individuals, companies and institutions within Ghana’s energy sector. It also celebrates the tremendous work of competing players under various award categories.

The Ghana Energy Awards provides the ideal platform for industry champions to gain the recognition they deserve for their sterling contribution and performance in the energy sector.
