No plan to rename Ho Technical University, says management

The management of HTU has said the institution was unaware of any recent attempts to rename the university

The management of the Ho Technical University (HTU) in the Volta Region has denounced claims by Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli State on the renaming of the university after the late Dr Ephraim Amu.

The school’s response followed a petition presented to the vice-chancellor, Professor Q. Honyenuga by the Asogli Traditional Council on an alleged renaming of the University.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, 23 April 2024, the university’s registrar, Christopher Amexo said the school’s management “is not aware of any recent attempts to rename the university.”

“The vice-chancellor has neither been invited to or participated in meeting or event regarding the renaming of the university,” the statement added.

According to the statement, the management has initiated steps to have a dialogue with the traditional authorities on the development.
