It followed arguments over a piece of land in the area being claimed by the said chief on one hand and another man said to be a relative of one of the officers

A military officer believed to be in his late 30’s has been shot dead in Kasoa in the Central Region on Tuesday, 30 April.

Two other officers escaped death after a sub chief at Millenium City, a suburb of Kasoa, identified as Benlord Ababio popularity known as ‘Nana Ben’ who is the Gyasehene of Millinneum City, reportedly fired live bullets on them right in front of the Police Station there.

It followed arguments over a piece of land in the area being claimed by the said chief on one hand and another man said to be a relative of one of the officers, according to Angel News’ Opanyin Darko.

Information gathered indicates that, brother to one of the Military officers bought a land from a man called Winnebo Ndego on behalf of the Military Officers but anytime they wanted to develop the land, some group of people led by one Fiifi stopped them from working on the land.

Subsequently, the deceased Military officer [yet to be identified] and his two friends decided to go and see the land themselves and find lasting solution, because they had already reported the case to Millennium City District Police Command.

Speaking to Angel News, the Estate Developer, Winnebo Ndego said, when the Military officers arrived on the land, they saw another group of people working on the same land.

Winnebo Ndego said, the Military Officers then ordered the workers to cease their work and follow them to the Police Station but they failed to stop.

Ndego said, the officers who were using a private Toyota RAV4 SUV with Registration number GR 3591 – 24 , drove to Millennium City District Police Command to lodge another complaint and asked what the police had done on the earlier complaint they filed some months ago.

Winnebo Ndego said, upon arrival at the Millennium City Police station, the officer on duty told the military men that, their first case had been forwarded to the Central East Regional Police Command, so the officers decided to follow up to the region.

He said, immediately the officer started driving to the Central East Regional Police Command, Benlord Ababio then told the officers to stop but the officer refused.

Winnebo Ndego said when the officers failed to stop, Benlord Ababio then pulled out a pistol and started firing into the vehicle being driven by them.

He said, one of the officers died on the spot while the rest escaped death.
