Government to build 120-store facility at Madina Market

Vice-President Bawumia said the government will also assist the affected traders with some financial support, after a verification process by the Municipal Assembly

The government has taken immediate steps to replace the burnt shops at the Madina Market with a new three-story, 120-store facility, Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia has said.
Dr Bawumia last Friday (19 April) toured parts of the Madina Market gutted by fire last week and commiserated with traders affected by the fire outbreak.
He announced that the government will also assist the affected traders with some financial support, after a verification process by the Municipal Assembly.
Dr Bawumia also urged the traders, and all traders in the various markets across the country, to take fire insurance and other insurance schemes seriously, in order to protect their investments.
