Even teenagers play better, Hearts of Oak fans slam players after Premier League defeat to Accra Lions

Aboubakar Ouattara's men suffered their fifth defeat in six games at the Accra Sports Stadium

Hearts of Oak fans have hit out at the players after their one nil defeat at home to Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

Aboubakar Ouattara’s men suffered their fifth defeat in six games at the Accra Sports Stadium. Issa Ibrahim scored the only goal of the game in the 56th minute to send to third in the league table- while Hearts of Oak remain in the 12th position after 28 games.

The Phobians will feel hard done by given the chances they created couldn’t find the net after six attempts.

Hearts of Oak lacked commitment on the field as Accra Lions young lads played through them with ease.

Yahaya Mohammed should have made it 2-0 following a one-on-one with Hearts of Oak’s goalkeeper but his chip went inches wide.

“The performance of the Hearts of oak players has disturbed me- Kojo Mensah told Asaase Sports.

“They don’t deserve to play for the team. Even teenagers are playing better, with everything provided for them they still play like second division. The coach should be allowed to buy his own players. As for this league we have lost it but maybe next season they will do better.”

“‘The problem of the team right now is not the coach but the players themselves. If these boys don’t perform better this coach will sack every player.”
