The Burkina Faso Army killed several terrorists in two regions of the country as well as recovering some motorcycles and weapons, the Burkina Faso Information Agency(AIB) has reported.
While many terrorists were killed and others were taken prisoner over the last weekend (4 May to 5 May).
The search for terrorists in the country still continue, the AIB reported.
Burkina Faso along with other countries in the Sahelian region of West Africa including Chad, Niger and Mali have been faced with violent terrorism for more than a decade.
Each country has taken the considerable measure towards fighting terrorism. On the contrary, one of the main reasons cited by the Alliance of Sahel States(AES); Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger of exiting ECOWAS was the lack of support when it came to tackling the terrorists attacks faced in their respective countries.
The continental body, the African Union will have to offer support to the terrorist-ridden countries to avoid a spillover to other regions of Africa to ensure peace on the continent.
