Barcelona fined for fan misconduct in Champions League clash at PSG

The charges against the Spanish club stemmed from incidents at the Parc des Princes on 10 April

Barcelona has been hit with a €32,000 fine by UEFA following racist behaviour and other disruptive actions by their fans during the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The charges against the Spanish club stemmed from incidents at the Parc des Princes on 10 April, which included racist gestures, the lighting of fireworks, and damage caused to the stadium. While Barcelona secured a 3-2 victory in Paris, their Champions League campaign was ultimately cut short with a 4-1 home defeat in the return leg on 16 April.

As part of the punishment, Barcelona will be subject to a suspended one-year ban on selling away tickets for UEFA competitions.

The sanction will only come into effect if further fan misconduct occurs within the probationary period. Additionally, the club is required to contact PSG within 30 days to settle the costs associated with the stadium damage.
